Phil is the President & CEO of Westcorp, a vertically integrated, full-service real estate company that he founded in 1980. Westcorp’s activities include investment, development, leasing, marketing, property management and construction of multi-family, hospitality, office, retail and industrial properties with a primary focus on the Western Canadian marketplaces.

Phil attended the University of Alberta from 1968 to 1972 studying Mechanical Engineering. In 1984, he earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the National Association of Realtors in Illinois, USA. In 1988, he became a member of the faculty of the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute in Illinois, and taught commercial investment courses leading to a CCIM designation. Phil was also a faculty member of the Alberta Real Estate Association, Canadian Real Estate Association and Board Member and Chairman for Junior Achievement. Phil is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and a Board Member for ManCap Foundation. ManCap’s mission is to foster the development of leadership and entrepreneurial skills in Alberta’s youth.

Phil’s interests include the arts, flying, skiing, scuba diving, boating, cycling and traveling.
