Ryan McRae is Senior Vice President of Business Development at Hotel Equities, where he leads strategic growth initiatives across the firm’s third-party hotel management and hospitality development advisory platforms throughout Canada and the U.S. Pacific Northwest. In this role, Ryan works closely with owners / developers, brands, and capital partners to expand Hotel Equities’ regional footprint, strengthen institutional relationships, and drive long-term value.

Previously, Ryan served as Area Vice President of Development at Marriott International, where he was responsible for lodging development strategy and execution across Western Canada. Prior to Marriott, he was Vice President, Acquisitions & Development at SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts, overseeing the company’s hotel acquisitions and development activities.
Earlier in his career, Ryan held senior development roles with Hilton Worldwide in both North America and the company’s Europe & Africa region, where he was involved in hotel developments spanning more than 40 countries. These roles provided extensive experience working across diverse markets, ownership structures, and brand strategies.

Ryan brings over 28 years of experience across the hospitality and commercial real estate industries. Before transitioning fully into hospitality, he held progressive business development and asset management roles with Ivanhoe Cambridge - Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.

Ryan holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BComm in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business.
