The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is an independent, not-for-profit corporation funded by all Ontario municipalities. Our role is to accurately assess and classify all properties in Ontario. We do this in compliance with the Assessment Act and regulations set by the Government of Ontario. We are the largest assessment jurisdiction in North America, assessing and classifying more than 5.7 million properties in Ontario representing more than $3.2 trillion in property value.

Each year, MPAC collects financial and operating expense information from hotel property owners as part of our Property Income and Expense Return. The information we collect supports our work to maintain accurate property information, deliver quality assessments and better understand ongoing changes in Ontario’s property landscape.
