Stephen Lund brings over three decades of leadership across banking, venture capital, finance, and economic development.

As President and CEO of Toronto Global, he leads a high-performing team that has brought nearly 300 companies to the Toronto Region—including global names like Netflix, Unilever, DoorDash, Reddit, and Sanofi—contributing over 30,000 jobs to the local economy. Under his leadership, the organization has deepened its impact through a strong emphasis on client relationships, strategic data, and bold advocacy for Toronto.

Before joining Toronto Global, Stephen helped drive economic growth on Canada’s East Coast as CEO of Opportunities New Brunswick, CyberNB, and Nova Scotia Business Inc. During that time, he also served as a Deputy Minister, Economic Development and Small Business. His leadership earned him recognition as one of Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEOs for five consecutive years, culminating in his induction into the Top 50 CEOs Hall of Fame. He was also named one of the Top 500 most influential people in Financial Centres International.

Stephen is the former Chair of the board of directors of the Conference Board of Canada and continues to champion economic development through a range of advisory and leadership roles. When he’s not in the office or meeting with clients, Stephen is often on his bike, chasing the toughest climbs across the Toronto Region.
