Tony Cohen

Tony is President and CEO of Global Edge Investments (GEI), a hospitality, lifestyle and management based investment company he founded in 1998. GEI’s investments and managed portfolio range from restaurants and hotels to online companies. GEI’s Canadian businesses have over 1,200 Associates and oversee in excess of $125M in Annual Revenue in Canada alone.

Two of Global Edge Investments most noted investments are: Hotel Le Germain Toronto, in which he partnered with Groupe Germain, Quebec City-based boutique hoteliers; and the Thompson Toronto Hotel in which he partnered with Freed Developments, both award winning hotels. Global Edge Investments is also a partner in Crescent Hotels & Resorts, a top 10 North American independent hotel management company operating over 63 hotels across the continent. Global Edge has also taken an active role in the launch of Wahanda.com, a spa & wellness resource guide, booking engine, and online community based in London, England.

Tony currently serves on the Foundation Board of Mount Sinai in Toronto and was formerly on the board of trustees of the Ontario Science Centre and he is the past Chair of the board of Kolel: the Adult Centre for Jewish Learning. In 1998, in partnership with his wife, created the Tora Foundation whose focus is strengthening Jewish identity and, Canadian based initiatives and values and education. Tora is or has been involved in organizations and programs such as birthright Israel, Tennis Canada, the Bell Lightbox, the Ontario Science Centre, AIDA (Association of Israeli Decorative Artists), to name a few.

Tony is the 2012 recipient of the Ontario Hostelry Institute Gold Award for Hotelier of the Year.

Tony lives in Toronto with his wife Moira.
